My name is Kerri.
You may know me as @kerriatlearning
After 26 years as a classroom teacher I am now working from home as Content Writer for PlanIt Literacy with the global resource company called Twinkl. I am loving the chance to use my creative talents to make literacy resources for New Zealand teachers with explicit links to the curriculum.
I continue to offer #NZreadaloud to teachers alongside doing my other work.
How i#NZreadaloud all started …
I involved myself and my class in the Global Read Aloud in 2014. The concept of ‘one book to connect the world’ completely blew me away.
I was so inspired by the idea that a book can connect learners so have decided to start a version especially for us in Aotearoa.
#NZreadaloud is an opportunity for kiwi teachers to ‘connect kids through one book’.
Would my rumaki class be able to participate??

We would love all of our Yr 9 classes to be able to participate (6 classes) – is this possible? The google form only allowed up to 3.
Thanks

Hi Kerri,
I am trying to register for read aloud this term… but it is saying that it is too late. Is there a way to still be a part of this?
Thanks, Caitlin

Kia ora Caitlin. Registrations closed a couple of weeks ago as they have started pre-reading this week. To be honest, I think it is too late now as a lot of teaching and learning takes place before classes start so they know what to expect and how to get the most out of participating. Please check out the Term 4 book which will be up in the holidays.
